We're nearing a podcast milestone, and I've got a special request for you, my loyal listeners. As we approach the 200th episode, I'm thinking of featuring a panel of you – yes, YOU – to share your favorite moments and what keeps you tuning in. If that piques your interest, drop me a line at brig@brigjohnson.com or support@brigjohnson.com.
But for now, let's delve into the essence of today's conversation: the rush to heal and why we need to slow it down. As high-achieving black women, we're often caught in the whirlwind of societal expectations to be strong and healed on a strict timeline. But in this episode, I'm challenging that narrative with the S.L.O.W principle for mindful healing, sharing the four problems with rushing your healing, how it can be more detrimental than beneficial and the importance of embracing every part of yourself, understanding that you are not broken and do not need fixing.
So, if you're ready to change the narrative and embrace a more compassionate approach to your healing journey, this episode is a must-listen. Tune in to understand why slowing down can be your greatest strength, and how the slow principle can guide you through life's beautiful journey.

Today we're diving deep into the core solutions framework. I crafted this framework because, let's be real, how often do we find ourselves reacting to problems instead of solving them? As high-achieving black women, we've been conditioned to believe that every problem is our fault, and we're expected to dot every I and cross every T. But what if having a problem isn't the problem at all?
In this episode, we unpack the natural tendency to react, explore the historical beliefs and societal pressures that shape our behavior, and introduce the revolutionary Core Solutions Framework – a three-step process to shift from reaction to solution. Join me as we break free from the blame game, foster a growth mindset, and transform the way we navigate challenges. Let's spend less time reacting and more time solving, because that, Queens, is our path to epic living.

EP. 166 Winning Don't Owe You Shyt!: How To PERSIST ANYWAY!
Monday Feb 12, 2024
Monday Feb 12, 2024
Today's podcast episode is a game-changer. I stumbled upon a powerful message from Coach Schuman, the strength and conditioning coach at Georgia Tech, and had to share it with you. Winning, he says, doesn't owe you a thing. No matter how hard you work, how little you sleep, or how unfair it may seem, winning operates on its own terms. But here's the kicker: our journey, especially as marginalized individuals, is often hindered by the mental game that winning plays. I agree that winning doesn't owe you a thing, but staying in the game is where the magic happens.
As your life coach, my mission is to keep you in the game emotionally, physically, spiritually, and mentally. In this episode, I dig deep into the concept of active persistence versus inactive persistence– engaged and experimenting, or just going through the motions. Join me in this raw and honest conversation about shaking off the distractions, questioning the narrative in our minds, and embracing the active persistence that leads to real transformation. Stay unstoppable, queens!

EP. 162 Half In Vs. All In: How To Get Yourself To Be All In!
Monday Jan 15, 2024
Monday Jan 15, 2024
I thoroughly enjoyed last week's episode, delving into the dynamics of being "all in" versus "all consumed" and exploring the reasons behind our hesitation to fully commit. Upon reflection, I've identified another aspect to this discussion – the contrast between being "half in" and "all in." Have you ever found yourself only partially committed to your goals, merely going through the motions without genuine engagement?
Today's episode delves into the nuances between these states, unraveling the reasons for getting stuck in the half-in zone. We'll examine various factors, ranging from a lack of clarity to issues with expectancy, and even the differentiation between intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. Join me as we analyze the mindset shifts and actionable steps required to transition from being half in to truly embracing an all-in mentality.
Don't miss this in-depth exploration with actional able steps of what it genuinely means to be all in and pursue your goals with passion and purpose. Let's dive in!

EP. 161 All-In Vs. All Consumed: The Difference Is Costly
Monday Jan 08, 2024
Monday Jan 08, 2024
Welcome back to the podcast, and Happy New Year to each of you!
It is a new month and a new year and we’ve got big goals yet there may have been some goals that you didn't write down because you're afraid that you're not going to be all in. If that's you, I want to talk about this. I want to help you understand the difference between being "all in" and being "all consumed".
Many of us confuse “all in” with “all consumed” and when it comes to your goals, I don't want you being “all consumed”, but I do want you being “all in”. So tune in as I explore this distinction.
Whether you're navigating a career change or striving for personal growth, this episode offers valuable perspectives that you can implement in pursuit of your dreams.
